Prop Firm vs Trading Your Own Capital
Honest risk note: most challenge buyers fail. Nothing here is financial advice.
Prop firm: you pay a fee (often $50 to $600) for a test; pass and you trade a usually simulated account and keep a share of profits. Your loss is capped at fees, but repeated fees add up, and the rules decide when you're out.
Own capital: no rules but your own, you keep 100%, and losses are real money. With a small account, returns are small in dollars.
A prop firm makes sense if you have a tested strategy that fits the rules and a strict reset budget. It doesn't if you're still learning, so practice on a free demo first.
